Notice to Neighbours: Toronto Christmas Market

11/14/2016

The Seventh Annual Toronto Christmas Market opens Friday, November 18, with the official tree-lighting ceremony at 6pm featuring a performance by the Toronto Children's Chorus and other special guests.

We'd like to extend an invitation to all of our neighbours to join us and the Toronto Christmas Market for this special celebration!
Admittance is free-of-charge for the opening evening.

The full schedule of events and activities is available at torontochristmasmarket.com

The Toronto Christmas Market is a non-profit organization; fees collected during the market are re-invested into the festival's infrastructure, programming, and new high-quality installations. In addition, a portion of the proceeds benefit the organization's three charitable partners: Plan International Canada, Daily Bread Food Bank, and the Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund.

Admittance

Resident Passes
Residents at 33 Mill Street, 70 Mill Street, 80 Mill Street, 390 Cherry Street, 70 Distillery Lane, and 39 Parliament Street will be provided with one pass per condo unit that allows admittance for two people at a time to the Toronto Christmas Market during ticketed periods. These passes are now available for pickup at the concierge desk.
You will not need a pass to access the entrances to your condo building.

Admission
Free - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays until 5pm
$6 - Fridays after 5pm, Saturdays, and Sundays
$20 - Express Pass ticket, which allows the bearer to skip the line getting in to the Market during peak periods. Fridays after 5pm, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Parking

Residents who own parking spaces within the Distillery District in lots which also accommodate Public Parking will be provided with a Vehicle Access Pass.  This Pass should be clearly displayed on your vehicle windshield.  During peak periods, when Public parking is full and Security are in place to prevent the public from entering the full lots, these passes will allow your vehicle to pass through Security. These passes have been delivered to the Property Managers at 70 Distillery Lane, 33 Mill street, 39 Parliament Street, and 390 Cherry Street.

For the public, there are several options; the Toronto Christmas Market encourages attendees to use the TTC, but for drivers, there are three parking lots nearby when Distillery parking is full - please visit the Toronto Christmas Market website to view their parking map and instructions.

The two lots closest to the Distillery District will be operated by the Toronto Parking Authority during the Christmas Market, and the lights will be turned off no later than 11pm each evening. There will be an additional 400 spots in the East Parking lot available this year.

The Electric Car Charging Station on Distillery Lane will be unavailable from Nov 17 through to Dec 23.

Security

Security presence in and around the Distillery District during the Toronto Christmas Market is greatly increased, with more than 35 additional guards on site during peak periods.  This deployment includes Paid Duty officers to control traffic and other duties, guards to oversee the site-wide liquor license on weekends, and additional Paragon staff to provide on-site Security and parking control.  These guards are stationed around the site, but may be moved to the area of most need by Event and Security supervisors to ensure that the event operates in a safe and responsible way.

Comments, Concerns, Feedback

Residents who have questions, concerns, or feedback for the Distillery District are encouraged to email Outdoor Events Coordinator Candace Shaw at cls@thedistillerydistrict.com  The Events Coordinator works closely with the Christmas Market team, and is on site on evenings and weekends throughout the Market.

We hope you and your family have a terrific holiday season, and we look forward to seeing you at the Toronto Christmas Market.
