Living Long in the Distillery

Do you see the Distillery as your home for life? We do!

A group of residents at 39 Parliament St. has been discussing how to create a social and medical support system in the Distillery for those of us who are aging or have special needs. Covid has made it clear that home care options for both long and short-term needs are much better than institutional care, except in exceptional circumstances. Aging in place and Naturally Occurring Retirement Community are terms that are often used to describe networks of this kind for seniors. However, we also believe that truly healthy communities include people of all ages and abilities so we are reaching out to anyone in the Distillery who might be interested in working with us on this project.

The GWNA is sponsoring an organising meeting on May 23 at 4:30 pm in the Community Room at 39 Parliament St. – snacks will be served! Bring your questions, ideas and dreams for the future and let’s build it together.
